Findway Ski Goggle Review

I grabbed the Findway Ski Goggles OTG mostly out of curiosity. They are one of the top selling budget goggles on Amazon with over nine thousand reviews and a number one badge in the snowmobile category. At under thirty dollars it is easy to see why people buy them, especially if you only ski a few weekends a year or want a backup pair.

I took them out for a few days on the hill to see how they would hold up next to my regular goggles. The short version is that they look fine out of the box but start showing their price pretty quickly. Fogging, scratching and fit problems all showed up within a single trip.

This review covers how they actually feel on snow, where they fall short and what to buy instead if you are trying to save money without throwing it away.

★ Budget Pick

Summary: Findway Ski Goggles OTG

These are some of the most popular budget goggles on Amazon and it is easy to see why at this price. They look decent and claim to fit over glasses, but in real use they fog up quickly, scratch easily and run small even for average sized heads. They might work for casual sledding or the odd bluebird day, but for skiing or snowboarding they are a false economy.

Pros
  • Very low price
  • Looks fine from a distance
  • Comes in many color options
Cons
  • Fog up within minutes even in dry weather
  • Lenses scratch and pop out easily
  • Fit is too small for most adults
  • Misleading OTG claim for glasses wearers

Full Review

1. Design and Build

Out of the box the Findway looks fine. Big shiny lens, simple frame, lots of colors. In the hand it feels light and a little creaky. The frame flex is OK for packing in a bag but the lens and frame connection feels loose. The foam is basic and the strap hardware is soft.

None of this is shocking at this price, but it sets the stage. Fine for sledding or the odd sunny lap. Not great for real ski or snowboard days.

2. Fit and Comfort

Fit runs small for most adult faces. The nose bridge sits high and leaves a gap unless you crank the strap. Cranking the strap makes hotspots around the temples. With a helmet it can float at the brow which invites fog. As an OTG goggle it is not convincing. Average eyeglass frames press on the lens and the foam, and comfort drops fast. If you have a smaller face or you are buying for a teen it may work. For adult riders it feels compromised.

3. Lens Performance

Clarity is acceptable in perfect conditions but the fine detail is muddy once light turns flat. Anti fog claims look good on the page but on snow the lens fogs quickly. Stop for a minute and it steams. Start hiking and it steams more. The inner surface marks easily and once you wipe it the coating looks tired. I also saw scratches appear after one day of normal use. Replacement is not really worth it at this price which makes the whole idea disposable.

4. Field of View and Ventilation

The view is average. You can see your edges but the lower frame is noticeable when you look down the fall line. Venting moves air on bluebird days, then clogs with wet snow during storms. Once the vents pack, fog builds and it is a cycle that does not clear without taking the goggle off.

5. Pros & Cons

PROS
  • Very low price for a full framed goggle
  • Lots of color options and quick shipping
  • Fine as a backup for sunny resort laps or sledding
CONS
  • Fogs quickly and stays foggy once the vents pack with snow
  • Lens scratches easily and can pop from the frame
  • Small fit for most adult faces and poor comfort with glasses
  • Not a smart buy for real ski or snowboard use

Verdict

The Findway checks the price box and not much else. It looks the part until you actually ride. Fog, scratches and a tricky fit make it a false saving for anyone who skis or snowboards more than a day or two a season. Spend a little more and you will enjoy your day a lot more.

Alternatives?

If you want a true budget pick that still works, get the OutdoorMaster Pro. It stays clearer, fits more faces and the lens system is less frustrating. You still save money and you actually get a usable goggle. Is it one of the top snowboard goggles? Still no. But it’s the best choice for a tight budget.

Final Thoughts

I wanted these to be a workable cheap option. On snow they did not hold up. If you only need something for a sunny sledding day, fine. If you plan to ski or ride, do yourself a favor and avoid them. The OutdoorMaster Pro is the place to start for tight budgets, but even then you’ll want to upgrade if you’re riding more than a few weekends a year. Hope that helps!
