Exploring Cardrona Bike Park with the GoPro Hero 7
In late 2018 we bought the new GoPro Hero 7, which was a huge step forward over previous Hero versions with regards to stabilisation. Optically, we were very happy with the Hero 6 but for smooth footage we coupled it up with the GoPro Karma Grip gimbal. And this worked really well but often it’s not convenient to attach a gimbal to a camera.
During the New Zealand summer of 2018/2019, I was lucky enough to get up to the Cardrona Bike Park a bunch of times and I thought it would be great to capture the runs on the Hero 7. Each video has the Hero 7 chest mounted and is edited to keep the footage to a watchable length. Having said that, it’s often difficult to capture the true essence of a trail in 1-2 minutes, so at the bottom I’ve included a full top-to-bottom video of one of my favourites at Cardrona, Crankshaft.
