The Best Snowboard Wax Scrapers

Updated June 11, 2025

If you’ve been riding for a while, you already know how much a clean, well-waxed board makes a difference. But here’s the thing: if you’re using a cheap, trashy scraper, you’re just wasting your time.

I’ve gone through a ton of scrapers over the years. Some break, some are too flimsy, and some just don’t cut it (or scrape it). After trying a bunch, I finally found one that’s cheap, solid, and built to last. Let me show you the only options I’d  keep in my tuning kit.

🏆 Quick Pick: Best Snowboard Wax Scraper

The best snowboard wax scraper is the XCMAN Alpine Wax Scraper. It’s wide enough to cover your board easily, built tough, and has a handy notch for edge cleanup. Cheap, simple, and way better than it should be for the price.

Detailed Wax Scraper Reviews

Here’s my go-to snowboard wax scrapers. Pick any. They all get the job done.

1. XCMAN Alpine Snowboard Wax Scraper

XCMAN Snowboard Ski Waxing Plastic Scraper 4mm Thick(Clear) - Corner Notch for Edge Cleaning - 2pack
  • The snowboard waxing scraper measure is 230*57mm with 4mm thick(9.0*2.24*0.15in).Cannot break easily.
  • They are precision cut and all four edges are planed smooth, square and straight to efficiently scrape excess wax from ski and snowboard bases
  • They are sharp, durable and can be resharpened with any of our scraper sharpeners, with corner notch for edge cleaning.
  • We recommend using snowboard waxing scrapers rather than steel scrapers to remove wax, steel scrapers can take off more than just wax.
  • Easy carry. XCMAN logo, with a OPP bag.2 piece more economical, and save money.

This snowboard wax scraper is my top pick. It’s not the priciest or the fanciest out there – but it gives you way more value than most others.

The XCMAN scraper is wide enough to handle your whole board easily. It covers all the basics and works great. Toss it in your gear bag, and you’re set.

Plus, it comes in a 2-pack, so you’ve got a spare just in case.

2. RaceWax Snowboard Wax Scraper

RaceWax Snowboard Wax Scraper - 9-inch - (RB-2434)
  • Sharp snowboard wax scraper for scraping large surface areas.
  • 9 inch x 2-3/8 scraper and 4 mm thick.
  • Precision ground, polished edges with corner notch for edge cleaning.
  • Orange with RaceWax logo.

Another great wax scraper to check out is the one from RaceWax. It’s an easy, no-fuss tool that gets the job done – and it’s the best choice if you’re on a budget.

I also liked its bright orange color. It really stands out, which helps when your gear is all over the place!

It’s not quite my top pick, mainly because the XCMAN gives you two scrapers for just a bit more money.

3. WSD Triangle Snowboard Wax Scraper

WSD Triangle Scraper Tri Scraper ski and Snowboard Wax Scraper
  • Triangle Scraper Tri Scraper ski and snowboard wax scraper,Great for skis or snowboards Remove excess wax from ski or snowboard base Corner notch for edge cleaning
  • The Triangle Scraper is the perfect addition to your tuning tools. Compatible with snowboards and skis, this little guy packs a punch. With more scraping leverage than traditional rectangle scrapers, the WSD Triangle Scraper won't disappoint!
  • Notched for edge scraping good scraper, sturdy and stiff, triangular shape works well Great for skis and snowboards If you ski or snowboard you Always need another scraper Six sharpened edges there are multiple edges and a little notch in it for the edges . Trishape gives more scraping leverage This fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and is very ergonomic. It made the scraping process much faster. Key Features of Tri Scraper: Six Sides Mean There''s Always a Sharp Edge
  • What puts our scraper in a geometric class of its own is its triangular shape. Six edges guarantee that there’s always a sharp edge to scrape excess wax from your base. A scraping notch ensures your board’s edges remain free of excess drippage or waxy buildup.

This one has a unique shape, which makes it easy to pack – and small enough to fit in your pocket (though I wouldn’t recommend that in case you take a fall).

4. One MFG Ski & Snowboard Wax and Scraper Kit

  • USE: Dry base, Rub on wax over entire base, put wax back into packaging, buff wax with cork, use pressure, Scrape, Brush. Enjoy the Speed!

I grabbed this kit while in Utah after leaving mine at home – and I was pleasantly surprised. The scraper is wider, so it fits nicely in your palm and works well on tough wax spots.

It also comes with a solid block of all-temperature wax, which makes the price feel like a great deal.

The only downside? The scraper is shorter than the one from XCMAN, so it doesn’t cover the whole width of your board in one go.

6. OneBallJay Metal Snowboard Wax Scraper

OneBallJay Super Steel Scraper Solid Black, One Size
  • QUALITY STAINLESS STEEL - Specially made for Snowboards and Skis, a steel scraper is a must for any tuning kit. Intended for base repair, but also useful for reshaping sidewalls, topsheets, etc...
  • EXTRA SHARP STEEL SCRAPER MEASURES 6" x 2.5" [15cm x 6cm]- Not made for wax, a steel scraper is what you need for flattening high spots in your base, and for removing excess Ptex after base repair.
  • MULTI PURPOSE TUNING TOOL - Keep this scraper handy, you'll find other uses for it besides base repair. It can be used to reshape sidewalls to help with edgework, smooth damaged topsheets, etc...
  • INSTRUCTIONS - When you hit a rock, in addition to the hole in your base, surrounding areas may be slightly raised. Steel scraper to the rescue! Flatten by scraping from the tip towards the tail using multiple short, light, overlapping passes.
  • REMOVING PTEX AFTER BASE REPAIR - There is an art to applying Ptex so it stays put and looks good. YouTube and practice will make you an expert. To remove excess, a sharp steel scraper is key. Use light pressure and multiple passes for best results.

Here’s a unique one – it’s a metal scraper instead of the usual plastic or plexiglass. That means the edges are really sharp and tough.

But keep in mind, metal scrapers are meant more for base repairs, not waxing!

If you’re just scraping wax, this might do more harm than good – it could damage the P-tex. But if you need to smooth out chips or bumps, this tool is perfect.

7. PURL Wax Scraper

PURL Wax Scraper (Small- 6")
  • Ski and Snowboard Wax Scraper
  • Choose from 6" or 9" size wax scraper
  • 5mm thick
  • Notched corner for removing wax from edges.

If you’ve read my stuff before, you know I’m a big fan of PURL wax. It’s a small, family-run brand from the U.S. and their wax always features in my top picks.

Their scraper is just as well-made and reliable. It’s the only one I’ve seen that comes in different sizes (I’d go with the 9″). Plus, it has a cutout so you can clip it to your bag or carabiner.

Just a heads-up: skip the metal version unless you’re doing base repairs.

Snowboard Wax Scraper Guide

How to Pick a Wax Scraper That Doesn’t Suck

Let’s be real—finding a decent wax scraper isn’t rocket science. But there are a few things to keep in mind so you don’t end up with some flimsy junk:

  • Material: Stick with plastic or plexi. They’re solid enough to scrape off wax but won’t gouge your base. Leave the metal scrapers for repairs, not for waxing.

  • Size: Longer scrapers make the job quicker, but if you’re into a smaller one, triangle shapes are easier to handle without wrecking your hands.

  • Durability: Go with a brand that doesn’t cut corners. Cheap knockoffs break, wear out fast, or leave sharp edges. Don’t stress—we’ve only listed scrapers that can take a beating.

  • Price: No need to blow a ton of cash. A solid scraper won’t break the bank, and a higher price tag usually just means you’re paying for the logo.

Why You Actually Need One

When you wax your board, that fresh layer of wax doesn’t just melt in perfectly. Only the wax that soaks into your base helps you glide; the rest just slows you down. That’s where the scraper comes in—to shave off the extra and leave your board fast and ready to rip.

How to Use a Scraper (Without Wrecking Your Base)

Using one is easy—just make sure you’re careful not to scratch or damage the base. There are plenty of Youtube videos if you’re stuck, but don’t overthink it.

My Take

That’s my list of solid wax scrapers. Honestly, don’t overthink it—scrapers are basic tools, and even the budget-friendly ones we’ve picked here will get the job done.

Keep it simple, grab one that works, and get back to riding.
